Jack Carlisle was born on the 3rd August 1985 and so is now four years two months old. He was injured at birth by the hospital’s negligence, and is now suffering from cerebral palsy causing severe physical and cognitive deficits. His life expectancy is reduced by about 10 years
The following figures were not agreed by the Defendant, but the final settlement of £3.9 million was approved by the Court.

Multiple failures to manage labour – cerebral palsy
Failure to report fetal heart irregularities, prolonged late decelerations, and the un-reassuring CTG tracing with intermittent, late, broad decelerations, coupled with a baseline fetal heart rate rising to the upper limit of normal, and growing evidence of uterine inertia. Failure also to undertake a fetal blood sample, and to proceed to assisted vaginal delivery. Settled for £3.5 million.
